Recently I came across my third grade report card which read, “Lisa is a gifted artist. She is particularly drawn to abstract art.” It’s taken me almost a lifetime to realize this! Now I am pursuing my passion in abstract-realism art. For years my life centered around music. I sang on Broadway as a protege of Richard Rodgers and for ten years I headlined on fifteen cruise ships. I have also published three children’s books and composed numerous songs. Now I have time to devote to my art. I study with Bill McLane during the summer and Brenda Belfield in the winter as I split my year between Rhode Island and Florida.
Pursuing other interests was not a waste of time for my art. My musical and writing background has raised my painting prowess by aiding in the lyrical and rhythmic flow, as well as setting a foundation for painting stories.
